SHIFTED, Vancouver                                                            March 2010 – Present

SHIFTED is a fundraising non-profit that showcases successful entrepreneurs and leaders telling refreshing stories about challenges they’ve faced and the choices they made to achieve success. Our volunteer team’s goal is to demystify “success” for young professionals while raising money for the innovative charity, imagine1day.

Points of Pride

  • In less than five months I personally recruited five speakers, an award-winning design firm for branding and promotion, and raised $10k+ from private donors and financial institutions to cover venue costs
  • Oversaw event budget and execution of promotional plan to attract 200 attendees
  • Registered SHIFTED as non-profit and am currently securing sponsorship to bring SHIFTED to multiple cities over the next few years

LeveragePoint, Cambridge & Vancouver                 March – November 2010
Sales Consultant

At this Cambridge, MA, based software start-up that provides on-line tools enabling B2B value-based pricing and selling (resulting in higher prices and faster sales), I was able to generate 5 major accounts.

Points of Pride

  • Through email marketing and cold calls I identified, researched and contacted potential senior-level decision makers at B2B companies with $1B+ revenues in medical device and high-tech industries
  • Secured, created and performed online and in-person product demonstrations
  • Instituted a weekly meeting between Marketing and Sales teams to improve communication and align promotional activities

Lessons Learned: How to present and sell a complex product in tough market conditions, and create personally generated leads.

  • Formed and managed partnerships with multiple professional service organizations, such as the Vancouver Board of Trade, to generate leads from members
  • Managed 22 athlete/sponsor relationships and organized sponsor recognition events
  • Created a secure tracking system and vetted 500+ athlete applicants
  • Formed and stewarded website development and sponsorship accounting systems
  • Projected and managed $120K program budget
